We are continually monitoring senior appointments across banks and our attention was caught by the appointment of Aravindan Thillai as Chief Digital Officer of Karur Vysya Bank in India (known as KVB).
Aravindan previously held digital related roles at IndusInd Bank India and prior to that, Sohar International Bank in Oman.
As far as we can tell this is the first Chief Digital Officer hire for KVB and we think this bodes well for the bank as it navigates the challenges and transformations familiar to many financial institutions in the region.
