Argentina Expected to Hold Interest Rate at 97% Amid Lower-than-Expected Inflation, Say Bank Sources

Argentina’s central bank held the country’s benchmark interest rate unchanged at 97% when its board met on Thursday, after monthly inflation slowed in May and came in below analyst forecasts, two bank sources told Reuters.

“The board of directors maintained the rate and considers that the process of lowering inflation is continuing in June,” said a source who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
