ADCB has caught our attention with Hayyak, its digital onboarding platform that has fundamentally changed how new customers join the bank. In 2024, ADCB opened more than 440,000 digital accounts through Hayyak - representing 79% of all new-to-bank retail customers. Those numbers are remarkable.

What particularly impressed our research team was the conversion rate. Getting nearly four in five new customers to complete their onboarding digitally, in a market where branch banking still carries cultural weight, is a genuine achievement. It suggests the experience is not just available but genuinely preferred.

The UAE's banking sector is one of the most competitive in the Gulf, and customer acquisition costs matter. By shifting the majority of onboarding to a digital channel, ADCB has reduced friction for customers while simultaneously improving its own unit economics.

ADCB has a track record of digital investment, and Hayyak builds on that foundation. We look forward to seeing how they develop this further in 2025.
