Arab Financial Services and Oman Arab Bank have expanded their partnership to launch a next-generation digital payments platform, integrating advanced tokenisation capabilities for global digital wallets including Apple Pay and Samsung Pay.
The platform enhances the security and speed of digital transactions for OAB's retail and corporate customers by deploying the latest payment processing technology and wallet provisioning capabilities. AFS, a Bahrain-based payment technology company, provides the technical infrastructure while OAB manages the customer relationship and product design.
The tokenisation capabilities enable OAB customers to add their cards to Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, and other digital wallets with enhanced security, using token-based credentials that protect card details during every transaction. The integration supports both NFC contactless payments at physical merchants and in-app payments within mobile apps and websites.
The partnership builds on a long-standing relationship between AFS and OAB, which has included payment processing and card management services. The expansion into next-generation digital payment capabilities reflects the rapid evolution of Oman's payment landscape, where mobile wallet adoption has accelerated significantly during 2024 and 2025.
AFS has been expanding its technology services across the Gulf, providing payment infrastructure to banks in Bahrain, Oman, and other markets. The company's regional presence and specialised payment expertise make it a natural partner for banks seeking to upgrade their digital payment capabilities without building infrastructure internally.
The platform launch positions OAB among the most digitally capable banks in Oman's competitive payments market.
