BSF Launches Next-Generation Digital Banking Platform with Backbase

Banque Saudi Fransi has launched a next-generation digital banking platform in partnership with Backbase, marking a critical milestone in the Saudi bank's digital transformation aligned with Vision 2030.

The deployment provides BSF customers with an enhanced omnichannel banking experience, delivering consistent, personalised interactions across mobile, web, and branch channels. Backbase's engagement banking platform enables BSF to orchestrate customer journeys across these channels from a single platform.

The implementation covers digital onboarding, self-service banking, and personalised content delivery. BSF said the new platform significantly improves the speed at which customers can complete common banking tasks and reduces the need for branch visits for routine transactions.

Backbase has been building a significant presence in the Saudi banking market, with BSF joining a growing list of regional financial institutions deploying its platform. The company's Banking OS provides a pre-built engagement layer that banks can customise and extend, reducing the time to market compared to building digital experiences from scratch.

BSF's digital transformation is part of its broader strategy to modernise operations and improve customer experience in a Saudi banking market that has become increasingly competitive. The entry of digital banks including D360 and STC Bank has raised customer expectations, putting pressure on established institutions to deliver comparable digital experiences.

The platform launch supports Saudi Arabia's Financial Sector Development Programme, which targets the modernisation of banking services as part of the Kingdom's economic diversification under Vision 2030.
