Cegid Acquires Shine to Build Financial Copilot for European Entrepreneurs

French software group Cegid has acquired Shine, the digital banking platform for freelancers and small businesses, in a deal that aims to create a comprehensive financial copilot for European entrepreneurs. The acquisition combines Cegid's accounting and business management software with Shine's banking and financial services.

Shine has built a popular banking platform in France that caters specifically to freelancers, micro-enterprises and small business owners, offering business accounts, invoicing, tax estimation and bookkeeping tools in a single app.

The acquisition reflects the growing convergence of business software and financial services, as companies seek to offer integrated platforms that handle both the operational and financial aspects of running a business. Cegid's scale and customer base provide Shine with significant distribution opportunities across Europe.
