Commercial Bank of Kuwait has partnered with Network International to modernise its payment infrastructure, upgrading card processing capabilities and digital payment services for retail and corporate customers.
The deal will see Network International's payment processing platform replace the bank's legacy systems, enabling faster transaction processing, enhanced security features, and support for newer payment methods including contactless and mobile wallet transactions. The upgrade is expected to improve the end-to-end payments experience for the bank's customer base.
Network International, the Middle East and Africa's largest payment processing company, will provide issuer processing services covering debit and credit card transactions, fraud monitoring, and dispute management. The platform's cloud-based architecture is designed to scale with transaction volumes and accommodate future payment innovations.
The partnership aligns with Kuwait's broader push toward digital payment adoption. The Central Bank of Kuwait has been actively encouraging the financial sector to modernise payment systems and reduce cash dependency, setting regulatory expectations for improved digital infrastructure across the banking industry.
For Commercial Bank of Kuwait, the upgrade addresses growing customer expectations for real-time payment processing and seamless digital experiences. The bank's existing payment infrastructure had limited its ability to deploy newer products and services at the pace demanded by an increasingly digital-savvy customer base.
Network International has been expanding its footprint across the Gulf, securing processing contracts with several regional banks looking to overhaul ageing payment systems.
