Finastra has launched its Next Gen mobile banking application, a modernised platform designed to provide financial institutions with highly customisable digital banking experiences for their retail customers.
The updated platform is built on a Banking-as-a-Service architecture that allows banks to configure and deploy mobile banking features without extensive custom development. Finastra said the modular design enables institutions to select and combine components based on their specific market requirements, reducing time-to-market for new digital services.
The Next Gen application includes enhanced personalisation capabilities, allowing banks to deliver tailored content and product recommendations based on individual customer behaviour and preferences. The interface has been redesigned with a focus on simplicity, aiming to reduce the number of steps required for common banking tasks.
For Finastra, which provides technology to thousands of financial institutions worldwide, the launch addresses growing demand from mid-tier and regional banks that want to offer digital experiences comparable to larger competitors and neobanks but lack the internal development resources to build them from scratch.
The platform supports integration with third-party fintech services through APIs, enabling banks to embed additional capabilities such as wealth management, insurance, and loyalty programmes within their mobile apps. This open architecture approach reflects the broader industry shift toward composable banking technology stacks.
Finastra said the Next Gen platform is available globally and supports multiple languages and currencies, making it suitable for banks operating across diverse markets.
