Finlayer Partners with Salt Edge to Bring Open Banking to Romanian SMBs
Romanian financial management platform Finlayer has partnered with open banking provider Salt Edge to bring real-time banking connectivity to small and medium-sized businesses across the country.
The integration enables Finlayer to connect with nearly every bank in Romania, giving businesses a unified view of their finances and the ability to send invoices, make payments, and reconcile transactions directly through the platform.
Open Banking Infrastructure
Through Salt Edge's PSD2-compliant infrastructure, Finlayer gains access to Account Information Services (AIS) for multi-bank connectivity and transaction aggregation, alongside Payment Initiation Services (PIS) for streamlined payment processing.
The platform acts as a financial layer on top of existing banking systems, allowing companies to manage operations without switching banks. Features include real-time visibility into balances and cash flow, automated reconciliation across multiple accounts, and integration with Romania's e-factura invoicing system.
"For us, speed is everything," said Ioan Solovastru, CEO of Finlayer. "Salt Edge's team managed to navigate us through the open banking experience seamlessly."
SME Financial Management
Finlayer positions itself as an intelligent financial operating system for Romanian SMEs, with plans to scale the solution throughout Eastern Europe following validation in its home market.
"Romanian businesses can now view all their finances, send invoices, and receive payments — all from a single dashboard," said Virgiliu Bodrug, Senior Solutions Expert at Salt Edge.
Salt Edge provides financial API solutions integrated with over 5,000 financial institutions across more than 50 countries. The company holds ISO 27001 certification and is licensed as an Account Information Service Provider under PSD2.
