Flutterwave Acquires Mono to Deepen Open Banking Across Africa

Nigerian fintech Flutterwave has acquired Mono, the African open banking platform, in a deal that deepens Flutterwave's capabilities in financial data and open banking across the continent. The acquisition combines Flutterwave's payment processing with Mono's data connectivity infrastructure.

Mono provides the infrastructure that allows fintech applications to connect to bank accounts across Africa, enabling services like account verification, transaction data access and direct bank payments. The acquisition adds these capabilities to Flutterwave's existing payment platform.

The deal strengthens Flutterwave's position as one of Africa's most comprehensive fintech platforms, offering payments, open banking and financial data services to businesses operating across the continent's rapidly growing digital economy.
