KFH Launches 'Fahad', Kuwait's First AI-Powered Virtual Employee

Kuwait Finance House has launched Fahad, described as Kuwait's first AI-powered virtual employee, providing always-on customer support through an intelligent assistant embedded in the bank's digital channels.

Fahad is designed to handle a wide range of customer queries and banking tasks autonomously, from account enquiries and transaction information to product guidance and service requests. The AI assistant operates around the clock, providing instant responses that reduce wait times and extend service availability beyond traditional business hours.

KFH said Fahad represents more than a conventional chatbot, with capabilities that include understanding context, maintaining conversation history, and escalating complex queries to human agents when appropriate. The virtual employee is designed to learn from interactions and improve its responses over time.

The deployment reflects KFH's sustained investment in AI technology, building on earlier initiatives including the RiskGPT credit assessment engine and the extensive digitisation of its service portfolio through the KFHOnline app. Fahad adds a customer-facing AI dimension to the bank's technology stack.

AI-powered virtual assistants have been deployed by banks globally, but KFH's positioning of Fahad as a virtual employee rather than a simple chatbot signals higher ambitions for the technology's role in customer service. The naming convention and branding suggest that KFH views the AI assistant as a persistent team member rather than a transient technology feature.

The launch positions KFH as a leader in AI adoption among Kuwaiti and Gulf banks.
