Mashreq has launched a revamped version of its mobile banking application, introducing an overhauled user interface and personalised features designed to consolidate its digital-first strategy in the UAE market.
The updated app delivers a redesigned navigation experience and tailored content based on individual customer behaviour and transaction patterns. Mashreq said the refresh aims to simplify everyday banking tasks including transfers, bill payments, and account management, reducing the number of steps required to complete common transactions.
The release comes as UAE banks face intensifying competition for digitally active customers. Mashreq, one of the country's oldest private banks, has been investing heavily in its technology stack to compete with both traditional rivals and a growing cohort of digital-only challengers entering the market.
Personalisation has become a key battleground in Gulf retail banking, with institutions using data analytics to surface relevant products and services within their apps. Mashreq's updated interface incorporates these capabilities, presenting users with contextual offers and insights based on their financial activity.
The bank has positioned digital channels as its primary customer interaction point, with the majority of retail transactions now conducted through its app and online platforms rather than physical branches. The revamped mobile experience is intended to deepen engagement with existing customers while attracting new users who expect seamless digital banking as standard.
