Temenos has partnered with NVIDIA to deploy its generative AI solutions on-premises using NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform, enabling banks to process data and deliver AI-driven insights in real time while maintaining strict control over sensitive information.
The collaboration addresses one of the primary barriers to AI adoption in banking: the reluctance of financial institutions to send sensitive customer data to external cloud environments for AI processing. By running Temenos's generative AI models on NVIDIA hardware within the bank's own data centre, the solution keeps data within the institution's security perimeter.
NVIDIA's accelerated computing platform provides the processing power needed to run large language models and other generative AI workloads at the speeds required for real-time banking applications. Temenos said the combination enables use cases including instant credit risk assessment, real-time fraud detection, and natural language querying of banking data.
The on-premises approach is particularly relevant for banks operating in jurisdictions with strict data residency requirements, including many Gulf and European markets where regulators mandate that financial data remain within national borders. Temenos's existing partnership with NVIDIA extends its AI capabilities from cloud-only to a hybrid deployment model that banks can adapt to their specific regulatory environment.
The partnership builds on Temenos's earlier launch of responsible generative AI solutions for core banking. By adding NVIDIA's hardware acceleration, Temenos can offer the performance levels needed for AI models to operate within the latency constraints of real-time transaction processing.
