Wise Platform has announced a partnership with Nubank, Latin America's largest digital bank with over 100 million customers, to power international money transfers for Nubank users in Mexico and Brazil.

The collaboration enables Nubank customers to send money abroad through Wise's cross-border payment infrastructure, accessing competitive exchange rates and fast transfer speeds directly within their Nubank app. Wise Platform provides the underlying rails for the international transfer, while Nubank manages the customer experience and relationship.

The partnership is significant given Nubank's scale. With a customer base exceeding 100 million across Brazil, Mexico, and Colombia, even modest adoption of international transfer services through the Nubank app could generate substantial transaction volumes for Wise's network.

Wise Platform, the business-to-business arm of Wise, provides cross-border payment infrastructure to banks and financial institutions worldwide. The division has been growing rapidly as banks recognise that building international payment capabilities in-house is expensive and complex compared to integrating with Wise's existing global network.

The Nubank deal was announced alongside several other Wise Platform partnerships, including with Mox, Standard Chartered's digital bank in Hong Kong. The growing roster of bank partners underscores Wise Platform's emergence as a preferred infrastructure partner for financial institutions seeking to improve their international payment offerings.

Brazil and Mexico are both major remittance markets with large diaspora populations, making international transfers a high-demand financial service that Nubank has been keen to add to its product suite.
