Checkout.com has been selected by Microsoft to power digital payments across several of the technology giant's product lines in the EMEA region, in a mandate spanning Xbox, Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure.

Under the arrangement, the global payments provider will deliver card acceptance for a wide range of Microsoft business lines, handling transactions across products that sit at the centre of daily digital life, from cloud services built on Azure to documents created in Microsoft 365 and games played on Xbox.

Microsoft will also use Checkout.com's AI-powered optimisation engine, Intelligent Acceptance, which routes transactions intelligently to reduce failures and lift acceptance rates. For a business operating at Microsoft's scale, even marginal improvements in payment performance translate into meaningful gains in reliability and recovered revenue.

The mandate is a notable enterprise win for Checkout.com, positioning it as payments partner to one of the world's largest technology companies at a time when high-performance payment infrastructure has become essential to the digital economy. Ensuring fast, reliable access to Microsoft's services makes the resilience of the underlying payment rails a strategic concern rather than a back-office one.

The collaboration underlines how enterprise software and platform companies are increasingly treating payment acceptance as a performance discipline, leaning on specialist providers and AI-driven optimisation to squeeze failure rates out of transactions processed at global scale.
