Fraudio, a provider of AI-driven fraud and transaction risk intelligence, has appointed former Adyen chief operating officer and Silverflow co-founder Robert Kraal to its Board of Directors.

Kraal's background in high-volume payment processing aligns with Fraudio's network-driven model, in which real-time AI fraud detection becomes smarter across connected acquirers, payment service providers and processors as more of them join. His remit is to help guide the platform's commercial growth and accelerate that network effect.

He began his career at Bibit, an early global payment service provider later acquired by Worldpay, before driving international expansion at both Adyen and Silverflow. That path spans card acquiring, modern payment infrastructure and the task of scaling fintech businesses from inception to global operations.

The appointment carries added weight because Silverflow, which Kraal co-founded, integrates Fraudio directly as a core fraud management partner, giving him first-hand data on what the platform delivers at scale. Fraudio frames the move as part of its push to replace rigid, legacy rules-based fraud systems as distributed payment networks grow more complex and outpace traditional security.

As card fraud grows more sophisticated, the hire signals Fraudio's intent to position network-based, AI-led detection as the primary alternative to the rules engines that have long underpinned transaction monitoring.
